The actual number of complaints to tax authorities decreased by 17.8 percent

During the first quarter of 2023, tax authorities received a total of 78,398 applications, 93 percent of which were applications, 6.9 percent were complaints, and 0.1 percent were various proposals. Consideration of 88.3 percent of applications was completed during that period, 11.7 percent are currently being processed. 66.6 percent of reviewed appeals were resolved, 30.5 percent were explained, and relevant decisions were made regarding the rest. The actual number of complaints decreased by 17.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year. The vast majority of actual complaints resolved were related to in-house tax audits, removal of financial sanctions, the rest related to tax liability, taxpayer registration, tax arrears and other issues. During the months of January-March, reception of a total of 96 citizens was organized by the relevant officials in the Office of the State Tax Service. During the reception, each citizen’s appeal was treated individually, necessary measures were taken for the positive resolution of their legal demands, legal explanations were given regarding the issues beyond the possibility of resolution.
